The “Introduction to Data Science with Python” event organized by Istanbul Medeniyet University IEEE Community was held on December 24, 2024 at the Central Classroom Building, Genç Ofis-108.
The training started with the basic building blocks of Python under the guidance of Bilalcan Ustabaş. Students had the opportunity to learn in depth the basic topics such as variables, data types, operators, conditions, loops. They also gained practical information about the use of functions to make Python codes more efficient and effective.
The training also touched on data analysis and visualization, and participants were taught how to use Pandas and Seaborn libraries, which are indispensable tools for data science. Participants who learned how to manipulate data with Pandas had the opportunity to learn how to make sense of data using exploratory data analysis (EDA) methods by visualizing data with the help of Seaborn. In addition, participants were provided with information on how to work effectively in data analysis and modeling processes through examples based on real-world scenarios.
The event, which attracted great interest from participants who wanted to gain knowledge in Python programming and data science, offered a free vocational training opportunity for our students who are considering specializing in these areas in their careers. Instructor Bilalcan Ustabaş provided both theoretical and practical information to the participants during the training, enabling them to gain competence in data analysis and project development with Python.
