
The ninth annual Medeniyet Technology Days (MTG-9), organized by the MedeniyeTekno student community, formed by Istanbul Medeniyet University Computer Engineering Department students, was held on December 19, 2024, at the İMÜ Ziraat Bankası Library Hasan Polatkan Conference Hall. The event offered a program full of career development-focused presentations and the latest innovations in the technology world.
The first session of MTG-9 began with a presentation by Kartal Derin, Head of Artificial Intelligence Department at Smartpro Technology, under the title of “Career Opportunities in Artificial Intelligence”. Derin discussed the definition and types of artificial intelligence, and detailed product innovation and process innovation opportunities in this field. He also presented the future effects of artificial intelligence and career development opportunities in this field to the participants.
In the second session titled “Digital Transformation and Data Science,” Turkcell Data Scientists Mesut Acar and Emirhan Kartal shared examples of process innovation in digital transformation processes. Emphasizing the critical role of data science in the business world, the speakers provided guidance for those who want to pursue a career in this field.
In the third session, Mehmet Enes Onuş, Backend Engineer from Codeway, shared the ways to achieve success in the field of software engineering in his presentation titled “Software Development Experiences.” Onuş touched on product innovation practices in software development processes and guided young software developers.
The last session of the event was held by Murat Yolal, Türk Telekom Project Test Phase Leader. In his presentation titled “Test Engineering and Career Opportunities”, Yolal explained examples of process innovation in testing processes. He inspired the participants by detailing the importance of test engineering in projects and the career opportunities this field offers to young people.
The wheel raffle and fun competitions held throughout the event provided enjoyable moments for the students, and various prizes were presented to the winners.
MTG-9 offered both an educational and entertaining experience to students and academics interested in technology. The event, which ended with a Q&A session, provided our students with a free vocational training opportunity in the field of technology and innovation, while guiding participants in their careers by focusing on product and process innovation opportunities in technology.
